Job Decriptions:
- Prepare and review cost estimates, budgets, and tender documents for construction projects.
- Conduct frequent site visits to monitor project progress and ensure compliance with specifications and budget.
- Perform cost analysis and provide recommendations to optimize project expenditure.
- Manage procurement processes, including quotations, contracts, supplier selection, and maintaining good relationships.
- Liaise with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients to resolve cost-related issues.
- Maintain accurate records of project costs, variations, and claims.
- Responsible for quantity take-off, cost estimation, tender pricing, and submission.
- Analyse tender outcomes, prepare detailed reports, and discuss with Contract Manager.
- Measure and determine work progress to prepare periodic progress payment requests.
- Prepare and follow up monthly progress claims in a timely manner.
- Assist Contract Manager with construction contracts, contractual issues, and claims including extension of time and loss & expense.
- Ensure compliance with regulations such as Security of Payment Act and company/ISO standards.
- Arrange and attend meetings, travel to sites, and follow up on project progress.
- Provide cost escalation alerts and communicate between internal departments and external parties.
- Undertake other duties as assigned by management.
Job Requirements:
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in construction or building projects.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
- Willingness to work primarily on construction sites and in physically demanding conditions.
- Able to handle on-call duties, including emergency calls and weekend work.
- Willingness to work overtime during critical periodsas and when required.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Able to work independently and complete tasks under pressure.
- Proficient in MS Office; familiarity with QS software, AutoCAD, and Revit is a plus.
- Result-oriented and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Willing to travel to sites and attend meetings as required.
- 6 working days per week.
