The Senior Accountant will be responsible for comprehensive accounting operations for Mexico, ensuring compliance with local legal and tax requirements, as well as supporting corporate reporting standards. The position requires a solid understanding of the interaction between operational and financial processes in billing, inventory, accounts payable, and general accounting activities. The selected person will ensure accounting accuracy, improve existing processes, and support the development of the local financial structure, acting as a key link between local operations and the regional financial organization. The position reports directly to the Management Control Directorate for the LAM region. Main Responsibilities Manage the comprehensive accounting process for Mexico, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information. Maintain full financial accounting and keep appropriate accounting documentation and records. Prepare financial statements and monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting packages. Analyze and reconcile accounting impacts related to billing, inventories, accounts payable, fixed assets, and general accounting. Ensure that accounting transactions generated in different systems are correctly reflected in legal and management reports. Administer and maintain accounting systems, including SAP and related reporting tools. Ensure compliance with local accounting standards, group policies, and corporate reporting requirements. Coordinate local compliance requirements, including electronic accounting, monthly tax returns, annual returns, and other reporting obligations to the Servicio de Administración Tributaria (SAT). Support the preparation and review of tax returns and legal filings. Act as the primary contact for auditors, tax advisors, banks, and government authorities. Identify opportunities for standardization, automation, and continuous process improvement, especially in currently manual accounting processes. Provide guidance and support to the Junior Accountant, including the supervision of Accounts Payable activities. Collaborate with local, regional, and global stakeholders to support the transition and stabilization of the Mexico financial structure. Perform other tasks required by the department.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Public Accountant, or equivalent degree in Accounting. Between 4 and 8 years of progressive accounting experience within multinational or international organizations. Advanced proficiency in SAP. Experience in managing the full accounting cycle, legal reporting, and tax compliance. Solid understanding of end-to-end accounting processes and ERP environments. Strong knowledge of Mexican tax legislation and legal reporting requirements. Experience with electronic accounting and other local compliance obligations. Extensive knowledge of corporate reporting requirements. Experience in multiple companies or business environments is highly valued. Intermediate English, oral and written. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
