LINE COOK

The Opportunity

UHP is seeking a Line Cook to help fuel the daily experience of our students and staff through quality meals and consistent execution. This role prepares and serves nutrient-dense meals in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining high standards around food quality, safety, and service.

You won’t just be cooking meals — you’ll be supporting the physical and mental performance of the individuals we serve.

Key Responsibilities

Food Preparation & Cooking

  • Prepare and cook meals following recipes, portion standards, and nutritional guidelines
  • Execute cooking techniques including grilling, roasting, steaming, sautéing, and baking
  • Ensure consistency, quality, and presentation of meals

Kitchen Operations

  • Set up, maintain, and break down kitchen stations
  • Maintain clean, organized workspaces and equipment
  • Support meal service in a high-volume dining environment

Food Safety & Compliance

  • Follow food safety, sanitation, and health standards
  • Maintain awareness of cross-contamination and dietary restrictions, including allergens and modified meal requests
  • Assist with routine kitchen cleaning and upkeep

Qualifications & Experience

Required Qualifications

  • 1+ year of line cook, prep cook, or related kitchen experience preferred
  • Understanding of food safety and sanitation practices
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds

Schedule & Work Environment

  • Schedule: Flexible based on campus needs, including evenings and occasional weekends
  • Work Environment: Fully onsite at our campus located at 25200 Ranch Road, Gentry, AR 72734 in a fast-paced, collaborative kitchen environment
