About the role.
Uber Freight México Customs, powered by TP Laser, is looking for a Sr. Operations Manager to lead and direct our customs operation. We are looking for a strategic leader responsible for financial control, continuous process improvement, regulatory compliance, and talent development within the business unit. As Sr. Operations Manager, you will be key to ensuring excellence in import and export logistics processes, monitoring business profitability, and coordinating multidisciplinary teams in a dynamic and challenging environment.
Functions and Responsibilities.
- Coordinate, motivate, and develop multidisciplinary teams to form self-managed groups, as well as structure and support career plans.
- Stay updated on customs legislation, analyze its strategic impact, and ensure compliance with RRNAs (Regulaciones y Restricciones No Arancelarias).
- Financial and Operational Control: Monitor operational volume, Net Revenue, and perform analysis and control of the business unit's OpEx.
- Account Management and Contingencies: Lead strategic projects, ensure the correct onboarding of new accounts, and resolve unforeseen events during customs clearance.
- Optimization and Measurement: Evaluate risks, costs, and times to optimize customs processes, implementing key performance indicators (KPIs) for decision-making.
- Communication and Negotiation: Maintain fluid and effective communication with clients, customs authorities, providers, and carriers.
Basic Requirements.
- Completed Bachelor's degree in Comercio Exterior, Negocios Internacionales, Logística, or a related field.
- +10 years of experience in Forwarding companies, Agencia Aduanal, or the Manufacturing Industry.
- Verifiable previous experience of +5 years in management and development of work teams.
- Fluent conversational English.
- Mastery of Mexican customs legislation (Ley Aduanera, RGCE, SAT) and International Treaties (T-MEC, TLCs).
- Tariff classification (TIGIE), customs regimes, and promotion programs (IMMEX, PROSEC, Regla 8va).
- Mastery of Incoterms and compliance with Normas Oficiales Mexicanas (NOMs).
- Handling of technology and customs systems: VUCEM, Ventanilla Digital, Anexo 24, Anexo 31, and electronic pedimentos.
Desirable Qualifications.
- Master's degree in Administration, Derecho Aduanero, Logística, or Management.
- Knowledge in logistics chain security (OEA, C-TPAT, ISO).
- Handling of BI Tools, project management, and quality/continuous improvement methodologies.
