WELDER SUPERVISOR I
You will serve as a WELDER SUPERVISOR I in the Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility (PHNSY&IMF), Detachment Stirling, Australia Maintenance Support (Code 900AU) of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF located at His Majesty's Australian Ship (HMAS) Stirling in Western Australia. Major duties
- You will supervise welders performing nuclear and/or non-nuclear welding operations in support of naval ship repair, maintenance, and modernization.
- You will assign, direct, and review work of subordinates, establish performance plans and evaluate work performance.
- You will plan, schedule, and coordinate work operations; solve work-related problems; determine material, equipment, and facilities needed.
- You will provide input on the planning of current and future work schedules, budgets, and staffing needs; review assigned job orders, workload data, plans, specifications, sketches and instructions.
- You will instruct workers on proper work method, difficult work operations, use and care of equipment, and safe work practices.
- You will review and redirect resources as needed and stay informed of potential delays through coordination with other groups or recommending action to higher supervisory levels.

This position does not require education. Additional Information Continued: For nuclear assigned positions, the incumbent must successfully complete all required nuclear training and recertification training. This position is subject to an initial drug screening, and random testing thereafter. A negative drug test result must be received by HR within 30 calendar days after the EOD (i.e., start date). The selectee's inability to successfully pass; or refusal to conduct the test may result in: 1) the tentative or final job offer being withdrawn during the recruitment process; or 2) subsequently being removed from Federal service for failure to meet a condition of employment. Upon relocation to Australia, employee pay will be based upon the final post of duty to which the employee is assigned in Australia.
