PAINTER LEADER

You will serve as a PAINTER LEADER in the COATINGS & PRESERVATION SHOP (Code 970) of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF.

Major duties

• You will lead Painters to perform Surface Preparation/Blasting and Preservation Coating work.
• You will assign work orders and pass on worker's instructions for various jobs on the basis of knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• You will prepare surfaces, mix paint, and other surface materials and determine sandblasting or painting methods on Surface Craft or Nuclear Submarines.
• You will conduct random checks while in-process of preservation to ensure quality and compliance are met by established requirements.
• You will ensure needed plans, references, blueprints, material, and tools are available and needed stock is obtained from supply locations.
• You will ensure that safety and good housekeeping rules are followed and maintained.
• You will identify, advise, and demonstrate minor repairs and maintenance on project support equipment, as needed.
• You will check work in progress and when finished for compliance with supervisor's instructions, work orders and established procedures.
