You will serve as a HUMAN RESOURCES SPEC (EMPL REL/LABOR RELATIONS) in the HUMAN RESOURCES & ORGANIZATIONAL MANAGEMENT BRANCH of HQ US MARINE CORPS.

Major duties

  • You will serve as an on site consultant to commands by performing various labor and intertwined employee relations services at the local level to meet immediate and long-range needs of commands serviced.
  • You will assist in developing strategies for supervisors and managers to meet labor relations obligations.
  • You will serve as an advisor on issues that are sensitive, serious, and/or controversial involving labor relations, employee relations, and associated functions.
  • You will analyze issues and take steps to eliminate basic problems and causes within assigned organizations.

Qualifications

GS-09 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Assisting supervisors and managers by researching and providing routine-to-moderately complex advice on civil service regulations, employee conduct, management-employee relations, and workplace policies. GS-11 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Advising and assisting managers, supervisors, and leadership on complex legal, statutory, and regulatory issues governing federal employment, employee conduct, and management-employee relations. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience: GS-09 Master's or equivalent graduate degree OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related GS-11 Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related A transcript must be submitted with your application if qualifying using education.
