FREIGHT RATE SPECIALIST
You will serve as a FREIGHT RATE SPECIALIST in the LOGISTICS DIVISION, TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT OFFICE of MARINE CORPS AIR GROUND COMBAT CTR.
Major duties
- You will plan and coordinate domestic and international freight shipments, including routing, carrier, selection, and special handling requirements.
- You will determine freight classifications, rates, routes, and transportation requirements using applicable tariffs, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- You will prepare, review, and maintain shipping documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with transportation requirements.
- You will conduct pre- and post-audits of freight bills and identify and resolve discrepancies involving rates, classifications, services, and carrier charges.
- You will provide technical guidance on inbound and outbound freight operations and assist personnel with transportation systems, procedures and carrier-related issues.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: planning and coordinating domestic and international freight shipments; determining freight classifications, rates, routes, modes of transportation requirements; AND reviewing shipping documentation and freight bills for accuracy and compliance.
