Major duties

  • You will examine financial documents to determine availability of funds to support assigned programs.
  • You will maintain and process pay account adjustments for active, reserve, and retired arms forces personnel and their annuitants.
  • You will analyze data within the accounting system to ensure accuracy of data elements.
  • You will conduct cost analyses by extracting and evaluating financial operational data to identify trends and assess relationships for informed decision-making.
  • You will extract, compile, and consolidate financial reports, operational data, and relevant information to project budget requirements involving one or more appropriations.

Qualifications

GS-06: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: performing financial management and budget analyses to ensure sufficient funding is available to meet annual program requirements; analyzing financial and accounting data within automated financial management systems to verify the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of financial data, and identifying and resolving discrepancies. GS-05: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: assisting with financial management, budget analysis, and administrative activities to support annual program requirements and ensure resources are properly managed; assisting with reviewing and analyzing financial and accounting information within automated systems to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of data. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience: GS-05: Successful completion of 4 years above high school OR A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
