DIRECTOR SPECIAL PROJECTS DIRECTORATE
You will serve as a DIRECTOR, SPECIAL PROJECTS DIRECTORATE in the OFFICE OF THE DIRECTOR, MARINE CORPS STAFF of HQ US MARINE CORPS.
Major duties
- You will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing a wide range of high-visibility executive level events involving senior Marine Corps, civilian, federal, and international leaders.
- You will perform detailed operational planning, logistical coordination, and direct execution of these major events.
- You will coordinate requirements among organizational units during formative stages of project initiation, project design, and project implementation.
- You will direct and manage the daily technical and administrative supervision of the Directorate's workforce.
- You will participate in the formulation of long- and short-range planning efforts, resource projections, priorities, and justifications.
- You will perform comprehensive general administration, fiscal tracking, and office support for the Directorate.
- You will foster a continual learning environment and identify adequate resources are allotted for employee training needs and development.
- You will formulate and implement affirmative action plans to ensure a continuing, affirmative application of USMC policies concerning equal employment opportunity.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Planning, coordinating, and directing large-scale executive conferences and high-visibility programs for senior military or civilian leadership; 2) managing fiscal operations and certifying financial compliance; 3) and executing supervisory and talent management functions-including setting performance standards, evaluating personnel, and ensuring adherence to Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) principles. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: This position is subject to an initial drug screening, and random testing thereafter. A negative drug test result must be received by HR within 30 calendar days after the EOD (i.e., start date). The selectee's inability to successfully pass; or refusal to conduct the test may result in: 1) the tentative or final job offer being withdrawn during the recruitment process; or 2) subsequently being removed from Federal service for failure to meet a condition of employment. You may be required to sign a "Drug Test Statement of Understanding" if you are selected for this position. As a condition of employment for accepting this position, you will be serving in a position in Schedule Policy/Career of the excepted service. You will obtain competitive status after two years of service in this position, if applicable. Your employment in this position will be at-will.
