About the Position: This Contract Support Specialist position is located at the White Sands Test Center Resource Management Directorate, Procurement and Accounting Division, Procurement and Contracts Branch, White Sands Missile Range, NM.(merit).

Major duties

  • Prepare and present written guidance, decisions, briefings, and reports.
  • Serve as a key point of contact, providing technical advice on all matters relating to contract management.
  • Administer and procure a variety of specialized equipment and complex services.
  • Perform complex contract administration duties, ensuring all procurement activities adhere to agency policies.
  • Develop procurement plans and evaluation systems.
  • Evaluate contractor proposals, cost and pricing data, and business systems to make recommendations.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes:

  1. Planning and conducting pre-award and/or post-award procurement actions;
  2. Advising on and preparing documents for contract modifications; and
  3. Execution of government purchase card request.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-11 or NH-02. Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, no substitution of experience is allowed.
