This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Works under the general supervision of the Director, Support Division , US Army Health Facility Planning Agency, MEDCOM at the Army Office of the Surgeon General Falls Church, VA.

Major duties

  • Resolves sensitive and challenging policy issues by presenting alternative solutions based upon Department of Defense unified facilities criteria and evidence-based design elements.
  • Performs space functionality and biomedical equipment planning for new projects.
  • Performs cost-benefit and workload analysis to determine medical equipment requirements for facility projects.
  • Prepares project justifications, specifications, decision briefings, decision papers, and training presentations.
  • Resolves challenging policy issues while achieving project goals and parameters
  • Supports medical construction, renewal, or reconstitution of facilities to support contingency operations.
  • Applies a systems approach for healthcare facility planning to validate biomedical equipment requirements.
  • Presents solution based upon Department of Defense Unified Facilities Criteria and evidence-based design elements.
  • Trains others on space and equipment planning practices and policies.

Qualifications

Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience includes: 1) performing space functionality and biomedical equipment planning for new projects; 2) performing cost-benefit and workload analysis to determine medical equipment requirements for facility projects; AND 3) preparing project justifications, specifications, decision briefings, decision papers, and training presentations. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
