About the Position: Work under general supervision of Branch Manager and senior realty specialists receiving assignments orally or thorough written directives and correspondence, performing day to day work with minimal guidance.

Major duties

  • Perform substantial technical and clerical duties in support of real estate projects in Branch offices in the Real Estate Division.
  • Assist with day-to-day realty program coordination and management that pertains to existing outgrants, ingrants, agreements, leases, and/or rights-of-entry for Real Estate Branch programs.
  • Examine real estate documents such as legal assemblies, tract files, title insurance/contracts, correspondence and memos, policy, guidance, law and/or regulations to compile information for the preparation and tracking of real estate transactions.
  • Operate an electronic keyboard with additional function keys to perform word and data processing accurately and efficiently to create a variety of correspondence, forms, documents, reports, and presentations.
  • Perform office automation work which involves receipt/transmission of electronic mail, construction and maintenance of databases for office projects/activities, preparation of graphic presentation charts, word processing and preparation of documents.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Assisting with real estate transactions by gathering, compiling and/or tracking information such as legal assemblies, title insurance/contracts, contract agreements, endorsements, orders, title, leases, renewals, payment and rights-of-entry; AND 2) Utilizing automated systems for data entry, preparing correspondence and/or generating standard reports. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). OR Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Real Estate, Business Administration, Public Administration, or Urban Planning. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages.
