Facilities Specialist
About the Position: Serves as primary point of contact for all facilities, space and building management functions which may include effective and efficient management of a supported USACE Divisional Headquarters Building and building support services.
Major duties
- Inspect contractors work for compliance with plans and specifi cations, develops punch list of items of work requiring corrective action.
- Coordinate and arranges for minor/major building alterations to include review for compliance with guidelines.
- Coordinate with other district elements to identify anticipated changes in programs/missions.
- Conduct analysis of current facilities through reviews of records and physical inspections to collect information such as condition, capacity, current utilization.
- Responsible for all functions related to facility and space management for the primary district or laboratory headquarters building.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience with coordinating maintenance and repair work for an office building or similar type of non-housing building; and inspecting completed maintenance and repairs for compliance with guidelines and safety requirements as well as for compliance with contract plans and specifications. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07) OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Facility Management, Construction Management, Business Administration, Real Estate, Supply Chain/Logistics Management, Project Management or Engineering Management. (Note: You MUST attach a copy of your validated OFFICIAL or UNOFFCIAL TRANSCRIPTS.) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
