About the Position:

Major duties

  • Distribute and balance the daily workload among team members.
  • Report on expected time of completion of work and maintains records.
  • Maintain the property book for non-expendable equipment, tools, and schedules/records all pertinent data supporting operations.
  • Perform a variety of engineering technician functions for the design, operation, maintenance, modification, test, and improvement.

Specialized Experience

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Analyzing engineering data to improve industrial processes; 2) Developing technical documentation, such as statements of work or cost estimates, for engineering projects and service contracts.; 3) Resolving technical problems by modifying procedures in mechanical, electrical, and chemical systems; and 4) Providing technical guidance to employees on work methods, equipment operations, and safety protocols. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-11.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
