Pre-Commissioning engineer

We are seeking an Engineer to plan and coordinate pre-commissioning and robotic tank cleaning activities, ensuring safe execution, technical compliance and timely project completion.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and execute hydrostatic testing, flushing, air blowing, chemical cleaning, nitrogen purging, leak testing, drying and inerting.
• Prepare procedures, method statements, risk assessments, test packs, equipment lists and progress reports.
• Review P&IDs, piping drawings and tank layouts to establish work scope, system boundaries and execution requirements.
• Assess tank conditions, sludge characteristics, access arrangements and equipment suitability for robotic tank cleaning.
• Coordinate the mobilisation, setup, operation and maintenance of robotic cleaning systems, pumps, hoses and sludge recovery equipment.
• Monitor cleaning progress and coordinate waste handling and disposal with approved service providers.
• Ensure appropriate isolation, gas testing, ventilation and permit-to-work controls, including confined-space controls where entry is required.
• Coordinate manpower, equipment, site readiness and inspections with supervisors, client representatives and subcontractors.
• Support flange management, bolt torquing and tensioning, reinstatement and mechanical completion.
• Troubleshoot technical issues, maintain test and cleaning records, and prepare completion dossiers for client acceptance.

Requirements

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechatronics or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in pre-commissioning, industrial cleaning or related marine and oil and gas services.
• Working knowledge of piping systems, pressure testing, flushing and nitrogen services.
• Experience with robotic tank cleaning, sludge removal, pumping systems or remotely operated equipment is an advantage.
• Ability to interpret P&IDs, isometric drawings, tank layouts and technical specifications.
• Good understanding of pressure-system hazards, hazardous atmospheres and confined-space safety.
• Strong coordination, troubleshooting and documentation skills.
• Willingness to travel and work at shipyards, refineries, petrochemical plants and overseas project sites.
