Chief Financial Officer

Responsibilities:

Financial Leadership: Provide strategic financial leadership and oversee the organisation’s overall financial performance, ensuring alignment with business objectives. Finance & Accounting Infrastructure: Establish and maintain robust accounting systems, financial processes, reporting frameworks, and controls to support efficient financial management. Financial Modelling & Business Planning : Develop financial models, budgets, forecasts, and business plans to support strategic decision-making and long-term growth. Subscriber Financial Fulfilment: Oversee the accurate and timely processing of subscriber-related financial obligations, collections, settlements, and reconciliations. Financial Controls, Compliance & Risk: Develop and enforce financial controls, ensure regulatory and statutory compliance, identify financial risks, and implement appropriate mitigation measures. Cash Flow, Treasury & Funding: Manage cash flow, liquidity, treasury operations, banking relationships, and funding requirements to maintain financial stability. Growth & Commercial Partnerships : Provide financial insight into growth opportunities, evaluate commercial partnerships, and support negotiations that contribute to revenue and profitability. Design Union Finance Oversight: Provide financial oversight for Design Union activities, ensuring proper budgeting, reporting, controls, and alignment with approved financial plans. Finance Team & Capability: Lead, develop, and mentor the finance team while establishing clear performance standards and building strong financial capabilities. Board & Stakeholder Management: Prepare financial reports and insights for the Board and senior stakeholders, communicate financial performance and risks, and support informed strategic decision-making. Monitor financial performance against budgets, forecasts, and business targets, taking corrective action where necessary. Ensure accurate and timely preparation of management accounts, financial statements, and other financial reports. Work closely with senior management and other departments to improve financial efficiency, profitability, and overall business performance.

Requirements:

Professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent is required. MBA, master's degree in finance, or a relevant postgraduate qualification is advantageous. Demonstrable experience as a CFO, Finance Director, Financial Controller or senior finance leader. Strong experience in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, cash flow management and financial controls. Demonstrable experience supporting strategic investments, business expansion, financing or capital allocation decisions. Experience building or strengthening finance functions within a growing organisation.
