Mechanical Engineer

We’re looking for a mechanical engineer to join us at Triton Depth in Copenhagen.

I think this is a once-in-a-generation time to be building. There’s an urgent need to strengthen European defence, and small teams of talented engineers have a real chance to shape the systems that will be used for years to come.

We’re building underwater sensor networks to help protect ports, coastlines and critical infrastructure. We need someone ambitious who wants to design the hardware, get it made, take it into the water and keep improving it.

You should be excited by the prospect of having your work tested in some of the toughest engineering environments and used in some of the most contested parts of the world. Saltwater, pressure and months without maintenance make for interesting design problems. So does making something that people can deploy easily in difficult conditions.

You’ll work directly with us on everything from housings and seals to buoy structures and deployment mechanisms. There will be decisions to make with incomplete information, and trade-offs between what we’d ideally build and what we can get working in time. We’re looking for someone with the judgement to make those calls and the practical skills to follow through.

CVs are nice, but I’d much rather see some hardware you’ve built and hear why you built it that way. What was your part in it? What was difficult? What did you change after testing it?
