Role Description This is a contract, on-site Civil Engineer role based in Lagos. The Civil Engineer will support the planning, design, and implementation of civil engineering projects related to energy, environment, and infrastructure, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations. In this role, you will work closely with senior management to identify suitable locations for PV farms in communities where we plan to implement solar PV mini grids.

Key Responsibilities

Site Identification & Field Assessments: Collaborate with the senior management team to identify suitable locations for PV farms. Conduct field visits to collect critical data, including soil information and load-bearing capacities required for foundation design. Civil & Structural Planning: Work alongside top management to plan the civil and structural works required at project sites. Infrastructure Design Coordination: Oversee planning for site infrastructure, including security fencing, buildings designed to house inverter bays and control units, and the structural foundations for PV module-holding structures. Office & Design Operations: Execute detailed foundation designs, layout sketches of PV farms, and related technical drawings.

Qualifications & Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering Proven experience in civil and structural design, particularly for energy, industrial, or infrastructure projects. Strong capability in conducting site data collection, soil analysis interpretation, and load-bearing assessments. Proficiency with industry-standard design and analysis software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar). Understanding of sustainability, environmental regulations, and climate-resilient infrastructure practices in Nigeria Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical report-writing skills. Relevant professional certification or registration (or progress toward it) is an advantage. Excellent collaborative skills with the ability to coordinate effectively with management and field teams. Must reside in Lagos and be willing and physically ready to travel to remote project.
