An exciting opportunity for a commercially minded Legal Counsel to join an international organisation and play a key role across its EMEA operations. Our client is a highly successful global organisation with a strong reputation for innovation, technology and product development. Due to continued growth, they are looking for a Legal Counsel to join their EMEA legal team. This is a broad and commercially focused role, ideal for a lawyer who enjoys being close to the business and wants exposure to commercial contracts, data privacy, emerging technology and AI-related legal issues. Working closely with senior legal and business stakeholders across EMEA, you will provide practical, commercially focused legal advice across a diverse range of business activities. • Other business and technology-related contracts

You will also have an important role in data privacy, supporting the business with GDPR and UK data protection matters, including Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs). As the organisation continues to develop its use of technology and AI, there will also be opportunities to support the legal team on emerging issues around AI, technology, data, risk and governance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day legal support to businesses across the EMEA region
  • Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts
  • Advise internal stakeholders on contractual risk and commercial considerations
  • Provide advice and support on GDPR, data privacy and DSARs

  • Review and draft legal documentation for marketing campaigns and commercial initiatives
  • Assist with signing, closing and execution of legal documents
  • Support legal roll-outs across different EMEA markets
  • Conduct legal research and provide practical recommendations
  • Work closely with the wider legal team and business stakeholders at all levels

About You

You will be a qualified lawyer in the UK or EEA, ideally with 3–5 years PQE, with experience gained either within a reputable law firm or an in-house commercial environment. We're particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate:

  • Strong commercial and contract law experience
  • Experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements
  • Good knowledge of GDPR and UK data protection legislation
  • An interest in AI, technology and emerging legal issues
  • Experience working within an international or multi-jurisdictional environment
  • The ability to translate legal advice into practical, commercially sensible solutions
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • A proactive, hands-on approach
  • The ability to work independently while also being a strong team player

Experience in competition or cartel law would be advantageous but is not essential.

Why Join?

This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer looking to move beyond traditional legal advisory work and become a trusted commercial partner to an international business. You will gain exposure to a broad range of commercial matters, work across multiple EMEA markets and have the opportunity to develop your expertise in data privacy, AI and emerging technology.
