Senior Audit Manager – Data & AI

A leading international financial institution is looking for an experienced Senior Audit Manager to join its internal audit team, focusing on Data Management and Artificial Intelligence .

The role will cover areas including Data Quality, Data Privacy, Data Governance, Data Sovereignty, Records Management and AI risk .

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver audits across Data Management and AI.
• Assess data and AI risks, controls and governance frameworks.
• Review compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards.
• Identify control gaps and provide practical recommendations.
• Work closely with Data, Technology, Risk, Compliance and Engineering stakeholders.
• Lead, coach and develop junior audit team members.
• Present audit findings and provide clear insights to senior management.
• Monitor remediation of audit findings and action plans.
• Support the development of audit approaches around emerging AI and data technologies.

Ideal Profile

• Ideally 10+ years of hands-on experience in AI, including AI model development, model design, implementation, validation or governance .
• Strong understanding of AI/ML models, model lifecycle, AI risk and responsible AI principles .
• Experience assessing risks around AI model design, development, deployment, monitoring and controls .
• Strong experience across Data Governance / Data Management , ideally with exposure to AI.
• Knowledge of Data Quality, Data Privacy, Data Sovereignty and Records Management .
• Familiarity with frameworks and regulations such as BCBS 239, GDPR, NIST, ISO and AI regulations .
• Strong understanding of data and AI risk, controls and governance.
• Technical knowledge of Python, R, machine learning, data analytics or AI platforms would be beneficial.
• Experience leading teams and delivering complex audit, risk or assurance assignments.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Candidates from AI/ML, Data Science, Model Risk, Technology Risk or Data Management backgrounds without traditional audit experience may also be considered.
