This position is located at Departmental Offices, Management CFO - Public Affairs. As an Executive Operations Staff Assistant, you will liaise with various offices and bureaus of the Treasury Department, relieving the Assistant Secretary of many complex management and administrative problems, and making travel arrangements for the Assistant Secretary and staff.

Major duties

As an Executive Operations Staff Assistant, you will: Independently liaise with Treasury officials and stakeholders to obtain data and information that supports policy and procedural determinations. Prepare briefing books and issue summaries on issues for the Assistant Secretary for congressional hearings, speaking engagements, and foreign travel. Coordinate office travel itineraries, including scheduling site visits, arranging transportation and lodging, and coordinating with host organizations and officials to facilitate meetings and engagements.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: For the GS-13 grade level, you must have one year (52 full weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes: - Providing executive support to a senior executive by independently managing schedules, balancing competing priorities, coordinating meetings and travel, and exercising independent judgment in resolving administrative matters; AND - Experience with records and office management; AND - Providing end-to-end travel and expense support, from coordinating travel arrangements through voucher preparation and reconciliation. The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. TIME-IN-GRADE: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-13, you must have been at the GS-12 level for 52 weeks. TIME AFTER COMPETITIVE APPOINTMENT: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
