The Office of the Comptroller General is seeking dynamic and innovative candidates to lead in departments throughout the Public Service of Canada.

Chief Financial Officers in the Government of Canada play a critical role in ensuring the sound stewardship of public resources. They are responsible for leading the financial management function in federal organizations, managing the financial resources entrusted to them prudently, and complying with legislation, regulations and government policies, directives and standards.

As senior government leaders, they provide strategic financial and business advice to the Deputy Heads (e.g., Deputy Ministers) they report to, ensuring that key business decisions are based on sound financial analysis. Chief Financial Officers also play an important role in supporting the Comptroller General of Canada in the recruitment and development of financial professionals across government.
