Chief Accountant (Cost Accounting & Ready-Mix Concrete)

Your tasks

Financial Accounting & Reporting

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Ensure accurate month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure proper accounting treatment of all transactions.
• Monitor accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and bank reconciliations.
• Support external auditors and facilitate annual audit requirements.

Cost Accounting & Manufacturing Operations

• Develop and maintain product costing systems for brick and ready-mix concrete production.
• Analyze raw material consumption, labor costs, overhead allocations, and production variances.
• Monitor manufacturing costs and recommend cost reduction initiatives.
• Review and validate standard costs and actual production costs.
• Analyze profitability by product line and production unit.

Inventory & Warehouse Control

• Supervise inventory accounting for raw materials, work-in-progress, finished goods, spare parts, and consumables.
• Ensure periodic physical inventory counts and reconciliation with accounting records.
• Monitor stock movements and identify discrepancies.

Budgeting & Financial Planning

• Participate in preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
• Monitor actual performance against budgets and analyze variances.
• Prepare management reports and financial KPIs.

Taxation & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with Egyptian tax regulations, VAT requirements, payroll taxes, and withholding taxes.
• Coordinate tax audits and respond to tax authority inquiries.
• Ensure compliance with Egyptian Accounting Standards and internal control procedures.

Team Management

• Lead, supervise, and develop the accounting team.
• Establish and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Coordinate with operations, procurement, stores, production, and senior management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

• Minimum 12-15 years of accounting experience
• Minimum 5 years in a Chief Accountant or Senior Accounting position within Interlock or Ready mix concrete products.
• Mandatory experience in:
• Interlock Manufacturing.
• Ready-Mix Concrete Plants.
• Cost Accounting.
• Inventory Control.
• Industrial Financial Reporting.
