The Role - School Cleaner As a Cleaner, you will play an important part in ensuring the school remains clean, tidy and ready for pupils and staff throughout the school day. You will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and presentation across designated areas of the school. Your duties will include: Cleaning classrooms, corridors, offices, staff rooms and other designated areas.
Sweeping, mopping and vacuuming floors to maintain a clean and safe environment.
Cleaning and sanitising toilets, washrooms and other communal facilities.
Wiping down desks, tables, surfaces and frequently touched areas.
Emptying bins and disposing of waste appropriately.
Replenishing cleaning materials and hygiene supplies when required.
Using cleaning products and equipment safely and in accordance with instructions.
Reporting any maintenance issues, damage or health and safety concerns to the appropriate member of staff.
Following the school's cleaning procedures, health and safety guidance and safeguarding requirements.
Working independently and as part of a team to ensure all cleaning tasks are completed to a high standard.
The Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who is conscientious, dependable and committed to maintaining a high standard of cleanliness. You should understand the importance of providing a clean and safe environment in an educational setting. The successful candidate will ideally demonstrate: A strong work ethic and a positive, can-do attitude.
Excellent attention to detail and pride in their work.

Previous cleaning experience, ideally in a school, office or similar environment, although relevant experience and transferable skills are welcome.
Most importantly, you must be dependable, take your responsibilities seriously and be willing to work in a school environment where safeguarding is a priority. Enhanced Child Workforce DBS - Essential Requirement Applicants must either already hold an enhanced DBS check suitable for the child workforce or be willing to pay for one as part of the recruitment process. If you do not currently have the required DBS, you can still apply, provided you are willing to cover the initial cost. Good news: Tradewind Recruitment will reimburse the cost of your DBS after your 20th day of work. Please ensure you are happy to meet this requirement before applying.
