Tradewind Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Food Technology Teacher to join a secondary school in Wigan from January 2027. This is a genuine long-term vacancy, with the successful teacher expected to remain in post potentially until the end of the 2026/27 academic year .

The successful teacher will be expected to take responsibility for the normal planning, preparation, assessment and teaching duties associated with a long-term classroom position.

The Ideal Food Technology Teacher

We are particularly interested in candidates who:

  • Hold QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
  • Have experience teaching Food Technology within a secondary school
  • Have strong practical and theoretical subject knowledge
  • Can plan and deliver engaging Food Technology lessons
  • Understand appropriate food hygiene, health and safety procedures
  • Can effectively manage practical classroom environments
  • Have strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Can differentiate lessons to meet a range of abilities
  • Are confident assessing and monitoring pupil progress
  • Can build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues
  • Are available to commit to a long-term position from January 2027
