A successful and well-regarded secondary school in Haringey is looking to appoint a committed and experienced Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) to join their team as soon as possible .

The Role

As Designated Safeguarding Lead, you will play a central role in ensuring the safety, wellbeing and protection of students , working closely with staff, families and external agencies.

You will be responsible for:

• Leading and managing the school's safeguarding provision
• Acting as the main point of contact for safeguarding concerns
• Supporting staff to identify and respond appropriately to safeguarding issues
• Working closely with external agencies and professionals where required
• Maintaining accurate and confidential safeguarding records
• Providing safeguarding advice, guidance and training to staff
• Promoting a strong culture of safeguarding across the school
• Ensuring safeguarding policies and procedures are effectively implemented

About You

The successful candidate will:

• Hold a recognised teaching qualification (QTS or equivalent)
• Have significant experience working within a secondary school
• Have a strong understanding of safeguarding procedures and legislation
• Have previous experience dealing with safeguarding concerns
• Ideally have previous experience working as a DSL or Deputy DSL
• Have excellent communication and organisational skills
• Be confident working with students, staff, parents and external agencies
• Have a calm, professional and sensitive approach when dealing with complex situations
• Be committed to promoting the safety and wellbeing of every student
