Tradewind Recruitment are currently recruiting enthusiastic, reliable and confident Cover Supervisors to work within secondary schools across Chelmsford and the surrounding areas.

Your tasks

This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who enjoy working with young people and want to gain valuable experience within a secondary school environment.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes during the short-term absence of their usual teacher, ensuring students remain engaged and complete the work provided.

Your responsibilities will include

• Supervising classes across Key Stages 3 and 4 in secondary schools.
• Delivering pre-prepared lessons and ensuring students understand the work set.
• Managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a positive learning environment.
• Encouraging students to remain focused, engaged and motivated.
• Supporting students with their learning and answering general questions where appropriate.
• Following school policies and procedures, including behaviour management and safeguarding.
• Building positive professional relationships with students and school staff.
• Managing classroom routines and ensuring lessons run smoothly.
• Providing feedback to teaching staff regarding student engagement, behaviour and completed work.
• Supporting students with additional learning needs where required.
• Adapting confidently to different classrooms, subjects and school environments.

You will not be expected to plan or prepare lessons, as work will already be provided by the school.
