Trackonomy has approximately 700 employees globally, with payroll administered locally across multiple countries through internal teams, payroll providers, PEO/EOR partners, and external accounting firms. This role does not process payroll. Instead, you will provide the independent review and reporting layer across those payrolls.
Our culture isn't something you join—it's something you help build. Every employee plays a meaningful role in our success and contributes to shaping our products, processes, and future. We value collaboration, knowledge sharing, accountability, and a strong sense of ownership.
Your tasks
Trackonomy is looking for an experienced payroll professional to provide centralized review, reconciliation, and reporting across our global payroll operations.
Your objective is to help us confidently answer three questions every month:
- Did we pay people correctly?
- Did we pay the correct employment-related costs?
- Can we explain what changed?
You will review payroll results, reconcile activity to employee and compensation changes, investigate unusual variances, identify errors and potential overpayments, and work with HR, Finance, local teams, and payroll providers to resolve discrepancies.
You will also own our consolidated global payroll reporting, giving HR and Finance a reliable view of payroll costs across countries, entities, and providers.
Success in this role means creating a disciplined global payroll review process that catches errors, explains payroll movement, improves controls, and provides leadership with accurate and timely payroll information.
What You'll Accomplish In your first several months, you will begin maintaining the monthly review and reconciliation process across our global payrolls and organize payroll reporting from multiple countries and providers into a standardized structure.
You will
- Maintain consolidated global payroll reporting that enables HR and Finance to understand total payroll costs, significant month-over-month movement, and the business drivers behind those changes.
- Identify and investigate payroll discrepancies, including incorrect or duplicate payments, payments after termination, compensation discrepancies, employer tax or contribution issues, workers' compensation classifications, and payroll provider or PEO/EOR billing discrepancies.
- Establish a process for documenting exceptions, quantifying their financial impact, coordinating corrections or recoveries, and identifying recurring issues that require stronger controls.
- Improve the consistency and reliability of global payroll reporting across multiple systems, providers, countries, and entities.
- Partner with HR, Finance, local teams, and external payroll providers to investigate and resolve discrepancies.
- Provide clear, timely explanations of payroll variances and employment-related costs to support financial reporting and decision-making.
Over time, you will become a trusted payroll resource for HR and Finance—the person who can independently review the data, identify when something doesn't look right, and provide a reliable explanation of what we spent and why.
Meaningful Impact This role has a direct and measurable impact on the business. With payroll representing one of our largest operating expenses, strong review and controls can identify costly errors, improve financial reporting, and prevent recurring issues.
You will have the opportunity to build a global payroll review and reporting process that becomes an important control for both HR and Finance.

- Strong analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to organize and consolidate data received from multiple systems, providers, and formats.
Preferred Skills
- Experience reviewing payroll across multiple countries, legal entities, or payroll providers.
