water and sewer foreman

The Town of Arcola is seeking an experienced and motivated individual for the full-time, permanent position of Public Works Foreman. This is a hands-on working Foreman position responsible for leading Public Works operations while working alongside staff to maintain the Towns infrastructure and essential services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and work alongside Public Works staff
• Plan and organize daily and seasonal operations
• Operate and maintain water treatment and distribution systems
• Operate and maintain wastewater treatment and collection systems
• Maintain streets, drainage, buildings and other municipal infrastructure
• Operate and maintain municipal equipment
• Coordinate repairs and troubleshoot infrastructure issues
• Maintain required operational records and assist with regulatory requirements
• Participate in after-hours/on-call duties as required
• Work with the Administrator on projects, maintenance priorities and future planning

Qualifications:

Preference will be given to applicants with municipal Public Works experience and:

• Class 1 Water Treatment
• Class 1 Water Distribution
• Class 1 Wastewater Treatment
• Class 1 Wastewater Collection
• Heavy equipment operation and maintenance experience
• Strong leadership, organizational and problem-solving skills
• Valid drivers licence

Applicants with strong municipal/water and wastewater experience who are working toward required certifications may be considered.

Salary:

$70,000 - $80,000/year based on experience and qualifications.
