Job Summary As the Breakfast Buffet Chef , you will be responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality breakfast dishes while managing your assigned section during daily breakfast operations. Working closely with the Sous Chef and wider kitchen team, you will help ensure that buffet items are prepared on time, replenished efficiently, and presented according to the hotel's standards. You will play an important role in maintaining food quality, hygiene, consistency, and guest satisfaction throughout breakfast service. Key Responsibilities Prepare and cook a variety of breakfast buffet items according to established recipes, portion sizes, and presentation standards.

Take responsibility for an assigned kitchen section and ensure smooth preparation and service.

Assist with the preparation and setup of the breakfast buffet before service begins.

Ensure buffet items are replenished promptly and maintained at the appropriate temperature and quality throughout service.

Maintain consistent food quality, taste, presentation, and portion control.

Support the Sous Chef in implementing rotating menus, seasonal dishes, and special breakfast offerings.

Prepare dishes catering to different dietary requirements and guest preferences when required.

Coordinate with other kitchen sections to ensure timely food preparation and smooth buffet operations.

Guide and support Commis Chefs and junior kitchen team members during preparation and service.

Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, cleanliness, and kitchen organisation.

Follow proper food storage, labelling, stock rotation, and handling procedures.

Monitor ingredients and inform the Sous Chef of low stock or supply requirements.

Minimise food wastage and follow established portion and cost-control practices.

Assist with cleaning, organising, and closing down the kitchen and buffet area after service.

Respond professionally to special guest requests and communicate them effectively to the relevant team members.

Follow all hotel kitchen procedures, standards, and health and safety regulations.

Requirements Able to start work early in the morning for breakfast preparation, normally around 3:00–4:00 AM.

Previous experience within a hotel, restaurant, buffet, or breakfast operation.

Good knowledge of breakfast preparation and cooking techniques.

Experience preparing a variety of local and international dishes would be an advantage.

Strong attention to food quality, taste, presentation, and consistency.

Good organizational skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Basic leadership skills with the ability to guide junior kitchen team members.

Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and proper food-handling practices.

Ability to work independently within an assigned section while contributing effectively as part of the kitchen team.

Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and public holidays as required.

Positive attitude, good communication skills, and a passion for delivering an excellent dining experience for guests.
