Delivery Administrator

Tony Alan Recruitment currently has an exciting job opportunity for a Delivery Administrator to join a leading business in their field based in the Bolney area on a permanent basis.

Your tasks

You’ll work as part of a small team coordinating international shipments into the UK, managing transport arrangements, liaising with customers and suppliers, negotiating delivery rates, tracking shipments, and resolving any logistical issues. The role involves ensuring deliveries run smoothly, keeping customers informed, managing costs and deadlines, and supporting colleagues to maintain an efficient operation.

Your duties will include

• Managing deliveries for cased and bulk goods
• Keeping customer updated on their orders and informed of delays/ issues and delivery bookings
• Liaising with hauliers regarding the booking of rail services, final road delivery and progress of outstanding deliveries as well as checking vehicle availability for future deliveries
• Coordinating with shipping lines to gain the latest updates on vessels, getting containers released or booking deliveries directly
• Obtaining, negotiating, and comparing UK haulage rates
• Facilitating solutions for delivery issues (road and rail)
• Manage free time & demurrage for hauliers and customers.
• Working in a team environment and providing support to colleagues where required

Requirements

Key requirements

• Understanding of Microsoft Outlook and basic understanding of Excel
• Confident computer skills – experience preferred as the role is heavily email and computer based.
• Customer liaison experience via email and phone is preferred.
• You must have a minimum of 1 years’ experience in transport, logistics or freight forwarding

What we offer

£28,000 - £30,000 per annum plus discretionary bonus Ref: TA8963
