The Junior Electrical Design & Automation Engineer is an exciting entry point into TOMRA's engineering team, designed for a graduate or early-career engineer who is passionate about learning, problem-solving, and developing real-world engineering skills. In this role, you'll work alongside experienced engineers to support the electrical design of TOMRA's industry-leading sorting and automation solutions. Your initial focus will be building a strong foundation in electrical design, control systems, and project delivery, while gaining exposure to how automation and commissioning bring solutions to life. From designing electrical systems and supporting project execution through to testing, troubleshooting, and customer installations, you'll gain hands-on experience across the full engineering lifecycle. As your skills develop, you'll have the opportunity to expand into automation, commissioning, and advanced control system projects while contributing to innovative technologies used by customers across the APAC region. What You'll Be Doing:  Support the design and documentation of electrical systems, including drawings, wiring diagrams, and project documentation. Assist with the selection and integration of electrical components, sensors, motors, and control equipment used across customer projects. Gain exposure to automation and control systems through testing, troubleshooting, configuration, and ongoing improvement activities. Help create and maintain engineering templates, tools, and documentation that support efficient project delivery. Support project engineers in delivering customer solutions from design through to testing, commissioning, and project handover. Participate in system setup, customer installations, testing, and troubleshooting activities to gain hands-on experience across the full project lifecycle. Work alongside experienced engineers on design reviews, technical problem-solving, and systems integration activities. Assist with maintaining technical documentation, engineering records, and user guides that support successful project outcomes. Promote a “Safety First” culture throughout the company, our customers, and our industry.

What We're Looking For: Strong curiosity and willingness to learn new technologies, tools, and engineering practices. Ability to investigate technical problems, think critically, and develop practical solutions. Completed a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related engineering discipline. Exposure to electrical design, automation, controls, or engineering projects through university, internships, personal projects, or work experience. Interested in how machines, electrical systems, and automation solutions work in the real world. Enjoys getting involved in testing, troubleshooting, commissioning, and continuous improvement activities. Works well with others and enjoys learning from experienced engineers. Comfortable collaborating with engineers, project teams, customers, and other stakeholders. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team. Comfortable working in both office and industrial site environments. Holds a valid driver's licence and is willing to travel occasionally in support of project and commissioning activities.

Nice to Have: Exposure to electrical design software such as EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical, or similar. Exposure to PLCs, industrial automation, controls, or systems integration. Experience gained through early-career, internships, engineering projects, technical hobbies, or industrial environments.
