Independent Driver/Sales Assistant (1099 Contractor)

Tom James Company is seeking an organized, dependable Driver and Sales Assistant to support a sales professionals in the Maitland area. You'll drive to client appointments in a provided vehicle and help keep the ay running smoothly. Between appointments, you'll also assist with client follow-up and prospecting projects.

Schedule and Pay: The goal is approximately three days per week to start. Days and hours will vary with client appointments and business needs, and the role may grow beyond three days per week. This role is a 1099 position with starting pay at $21.00 per hour.

Responsibilities: Drive the sales professional safely to appointments throughout the Orlando area in a provided vehicle. Load and unload client files, garments, and other materials. Review the schedule and provide relevant client details before appointments. Deliver and pick up items as needed. Research local prospects and organize contact information for future outreach. Prepare client follow-up lists and draft outreach for the sales professional to review. Record responses, update prospecting lists, and flag appointment opportunities. Answer incoming calls and complete other administrative tasks between appointments. Communicate regularly with the sales professional and other team members.

What We're Looking For: A valid driver’s license and willingness to drive a vehicle provided by the sales professional.

Ability to personally carry $300,000 per incident in liability and collision insurance.

Dependability, punctuality, and flexibility when appointment schedules change.

A professional appearance and comfort interacting with corporate clients.

Strong organization, communication, and follow-through.

Comfort using Google Workspace, spreadsheets, and LinkedIn.

Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
