Tasks

• Coordination of research and development projects for maritime communication systems, including detailed project planning in coordination with system architects and clients
• Schedule management for all relevant development steps as well as regular reporting to clients to document project progress
• Ensuring budget compliance, schedule, and quality standards throughout the entire system development cycle
• Derivation of use cases and requirements from system ideas as well as coordination of subsequent development and design processes in prototype construction with the team
• Representation of the project and the company during national and international business trips, conferences, and project meetings

Profile

• Completed studies in communications engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, shipbuilding, physics, or a comparable field as well as many years of diverse professional experience in the development of innovative maritime technologies, ideally with practical implementation of laboratory prototypes and associated laboratory environments
• Knowledge and application of systems engineering methods, for example Certified Systems Engineer LevelC, or project management standards, for example GPM/IPMA LevelC, as well as experience with agile development approaches and requirements management, preferably IBM DOORS
• Very good English skills in speaking and writing as well as confident handling of MS-Office applications (Word, Excel, Visio, Project)
• Strong abstraction and analytical skills, rapid familiarization with new systems and devices, strong communication and teamwork skills as well as the ability to convey complex content clearly
• Proactive, independent, solution-oriented, and goal-oriented way of working, decisiveness, as well as a confident and professional appearance when in contact with customers
