System Architect for Research Projects (m/f/d) (Software-Architect)

Tasks

• Member of a dedicated team for research projects and innovative maritime communication technologies, responsible for the conception and design of system designs
• Derivation of relevant use cases and requirements from system ideas as well as design of the system architecture, including decomposition of the overall system into functional components
• Detailing of subcomponents and their interfaces in cooperation with system engineers, development of design alternatives and support in structured decision-making processes
• Coordination of subsequent development and construction processes in prototype construction, commissioning of prototypes, performance of initial functional tests and systematic troubleshooting of hardware discrepancies
• Participation in national and international business trips to clarify technical issues and to coordinate with relevant stakeholders to ensure successful project implementation

Profile

• Completed studies in communications engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, naval architecture, physics or a comparable field as well as many years of versatile professional experience in the development of innovative maritime technologies, ideally with practical implementation of laboratory prototypes and associated laboratory environments
• Sound knowledge of the methods and processes of Systems Engineering, for example Certified Systems Engineer LevelC, experience with agile development approaches and requirements management, preferably using IBM DOORS
• Very good English skills in speaking and writing as well as confident handling of MS-Office applications (Word, Excel, Visio, Project)
• Strong abstraction and analytical skills, rapid familiarization with new systems and devices, strong communication and teamwork skills as well as the ability to convey complex content clearly
• Proactive, independent, solution- and goal-oriented way of working, decisiveness as well as a confident and professional appearance when in contact with customers
