Tasks

• Taking on the central role in the material processing of ship operating systems, including analysis of system requirements, creation of material technical specifications, and maintenance of relevant data in IT tools (Teamcenter, SAP)
• Creation of material specifications (pipes, pipe fittings, pipe supports, valves, etc.), of pipe and bill of materials, as well as of quantity frameworks
• Creation of procurement and selection/application of pipe supports, pipes, pipe fittings, valves, etc., as well as creation of requirement requests and their tracking
• Support in design guidelines and direct exchange with system managers to clarify technical material questions
• Coordination with purchasing, production, and other specialist departments while maintaining a constant, steady overview of the material processing of ship operating systems

Profile

• Successfully completed technical training with a focus on ship operating technology or mechanical engineering – alternatively training or professional experience as a pipe fitter – ideally relevant professional experience in the field of ship operating technology and experience with materials in piping construction in shipbuilding
• Sound knowledge of relevant standards for valves, pipes, pipe connection parts, and pipe fittings, of materials science (material differences, application possibilities, material pairings, material certificates) as well as the DNV specifications for pipelines, accessories, and valves
• Proficient IT skills (MS-Office, SAP, Teamcenter), good English skills and the ability to read schematics and associated documents and translate them into material, as well as to process complex technical requirements efficiently and result-oriented
• Structured, goal-oriented way of working with high personal responsibility, commitment, and flexibility, as well as strong organizational, analytical skills and a pronounced technical understanding
• High degree of teamwork and communication skills, especially in intercultural working environments and when exchanging with international partners, as well as a proactive mindset for the continuous improvement of processes
