Tasks

• Leadership and further development of department employees as well as responsibility for the cost center
• Planning and allocation of capacities to offers and customer projects according to the principle of a matrix organization, in coordination with Technical Leads, division management, and offer or project management
• Central interface function to Sales with an overview of upcoming sales support measures
• Further development of the Systems Engineering process within the organizational unit and at the division interfaces along the lifecycle of the systems to be delivered, as well as ensuring its compliance through participation in the technical controlling of the projects carried out in the division
• Support for employees in projects for optimal efficiency, further development of methods and work organization of system development, in coordination with division management, as well as building necessary support functions in close cooperation with the other department heads

Profile

• University degree in Elektrotechnik, Schiffbau, Physik or a comparable field as well as several years of professional experience in the development of complex technical systems, especially communication systems
• Several years of leadership experience or technical management function in complex, regulated, and safety-critical development projects, as well as the ability to lead technical experts in dynamic environments, manage conflicts of interest, escalations, and priorities confidently, and mediate between line and project organizations
• Sound knowledge in Systems and Requirement Engineering (e.g., Certified Systems EngineerC, iREBFoundation), requirements management with IBMDOORS (Classic/NG) as well as ideally proficient use of Office tools (Word, Excel, optional Visio, Project) and experience with model-based work/PLM tools
• Strong communication skills, high capacity for abstraction, and the ability to convey complex content clearly, as well as very good English skills in speaking and writing
• Proactive, independent, and goal-oriented way of working with strong decisiveness
