Drafter

Tiron Design & BuildBadung, Baliglintspublished 10/14/2026

Role Summary: The Drafter supports daily planning, design, and project execution activities through the creation and management of technical drawings and design documentation. The role is responsible for producing accurate working drawings, maintaining as-built drawings, coordinating with engineering and project teams, and ensuring that all CAD files, design revisions, and supporting documents are complete, organized, and properly filed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Translate rough hand sketches, conceptual designs, architectural layouts, and engineer markups into clean, complete, and accurate 2D working drawings or 3D CAD/BIM models.
  • Produce clear structural, architectural, or MEP details, ensuring proper callouts, precise dimensions, and proper scale across all drawing sheets.
  • Draft shop drawings, fabrication details, and layout plans that site personnel and contractors can easily read and execute without second-guessing specifications.
  • Manage drawing revisions (RFI updates, change orders, design modifications) systematically using clear revision clouds, delta tags, and updated title block information.
  • Maintain clean CAD file architectures, strictly enforcing layer standards, managing external references (Xrefs), block libraries, and standard drawing templates across the team.
  • Ensure obsolete drawing versions are archived immediately so site teams and project engineers never work off outdated prints or misplace current revision sets.
  • Collaborate regularly with project engineers, architects, subcontractors, and site supervisors to resolve spatial clashes, structural inconsistencies, or installation bottlenecks.
  • Conduct site visits and field measurements to verify conditions on the ground, updating baseline drawings to reflect actual physical measurements and structural variations.
  • Continuously record field adjustments to produce accurate, final As-Built drawings upon project completion for handover and auditing.
  • Self-audit all drafted deliverables for missing dimensions, geometry errors, clearance issues, and basic code/standard compliance before submitting them for formal sign-off.
  • Flag design inconsistencies early—such as pipes running through structural beams or missing headroom clearances—saving time and preventing costly rework during construction.
  • Ensure all design outputs strictly comply with company drafting standards, client guidelines, local building codes, and safety requirements.

Qualifications: Education:

  • Vocational Diploma (D3/D4) or Bachelor’s Degree (S1) in Architecture, Civil Engineering, or Drafting/CAD Technology (relevant hands-on training beats a degree if your portfolio is solid).

Experience:

  • Min. 3 years of real-world experience drafting, detailing, or modeling in a construction, engineering, or manufacturing setup.
  • A clean track record of actual delivered working drawings, shop drawings, and structural or MEP details that made it to construction.
  • Practical background going on-site, pulling physical tape measurements, and updating drawings to match real site conditions.
  • Practical experience keeping drawing logs, transmittals, and CAD files organized without losing track of changes across project phases.

Skills:

  • Fast, precise execution in AutoCAD, Revit, or standard industry software without cutting corners on drafting standards.
  • Ability to read complex multi-disciplinary drawings.
  • Strong spatial visualization to catch geometry errors, bad clearances, or bad scales before they become expensive field mistakes.
  • Strict discipline with file naming, CAD layers, xrefs, and block libraries to keep drawing sets clean for anyone who opens them.

Attributes:

  • Demonstrates high precision and thoroughness, ensuring accuracy in line dimensional integrity and technical annotations.
  • Proactively collaborates with engineering and project management teams to resolve design discrepancies and deliver practical construction solutions.
  • Displays resilience and strong time management skills under tight deadlines and frequent design revisions without compromising drawing quality.
  • Communicates clearly and directly with multidisciplinary teams, consultants, and site contractors to resolve technical queries efficiently.
  • Maintained focus on producing structured, highly legible drawing sets that streamline fabrication and site implementation.
