Private Client Tax Manager
If you're a private client tax specialist looking for a role with real depth (HNW individuals, trustees, executors, complex structures) and a firm that will invest in where your career goes next, this is worth a serious look.
Why this firm
Private client work is genuinely part of this firm's DNA: it's an area they've been recognised in the top 10 nationally for eight years running, and the team you'd be joining has grown substantially under strong leadership with a clear ambition to be the best in the country at what it does. The wider business is a top 20 UK accountancy firm with a multi-decade history and significant recent growth, both organically and via acquisition, but it has deliberately kept the feel of a firm that knows its people and invests in them individually. You'll get mentorship from senior leadership, personal coaching mapped to your own aspirations (including, if that's the goal, a genuine route to Director or Partner), and a flexible working framework that's built around real life, not just policy. Independently verified employee reviews rate this as a strong, supportive place to work, with satisfaction scores well above the sector average.
About the role
You'll join the Trust and Family Office team, taking ownership of a portfolio of high-net-worth client relationships. This isn't a narrow compliance role; you'll be the primary point of contact for trustees and executors, drafting complex tax advisory reports for Directors and Partners, and getting properly involved in the technical detail that makes private client work interesting.
Your day-to-day will include:
- Managing individual HNW client relationships as their main point of contact
- Reviewing the annual compliance cycle for trust and estate accounts and tax returns
- Drafting advisory reports on CGT, IHT, domicile and residence issues
- Advising on the use of trust and company structures
- Working closely with Senior Managers, Directors and Partners on more complex assignments
- Getting involved in business development, marketing and networking as opportunities arise
About you
- CTA or ACA qualified (or equivalent experience)
- Solid experience managing a private client / trust portfolio within practice
- Comfortable advising on complex technical areas, including CGT, IHT, domicile and residence
- A relationship-first mindset: you enjoy being a client's trusted point of contact, not just their technician
