Press Brake Operator - Manchester We are currently recruiting for experienced Press Brake Operators to join a leading engineering and manufacturing business based in Stretford, Manchester. This is an excellent opportunity for skilled operators seeking long-term work with the potential to secure a permanent position following a successful temporary period.
Your tasks
- Program, set up, and operate press brake machinery to produce components to specification.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Adjust machine settings to achieve accurate bends and maintain quality standards.
- Carry out first-off inspections and ongoing quality checks throughout production.
- Ensure all products meet required tolerances and customer specifications.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and housekeeping duties.
- Identify and report any machine faults or production issues.
- Work safely in accordance with company health and safety procedures.
- Collaborate with production teams to meet manufacturing targets and deadlines.
Requirements
We are looking for candidates who can confidently program, set, and operate press brake machinery and who have a strong background working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience programming, setting, and operating Press Brake machines.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes.
- Excellent attention to detail and quality standards.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable and safety-conscious approach to work.
Desirable Skills
- Experience working within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of CNC-controlled press brake machinery.
- Familiarity with quality inspection tools and measuring equipment.
