NFV & Cloud Operations Engineer - O&M Specialist

Responsible for managing Cloud Datacenter infrastructure equipment and network function virtualization (NFV) within the Network perimeter.

Responsibilities and assignments

• Execute configuration, administration, and troubleshooting activities in physical and virtualized networks of the NFVi environment, including L2/L3 switches/routers, virtual switches, SDN controllers, and overlay/underlay networks, with autonomy in resolving complex failures;
• Perform acceptance tests and functional validation of new elements and systems, including results analysis, identification of deviations, and technical support for homologation;
• Act with monitoring and inventory teams in validating integrations, adjusting metrics, and improving data quality;
• Document operational routines and troubleshooting procedures, ensuring technical quality and standardization of practices;
• Monitor KPIs and network metrics, performing preventive adjustments and acting proactively in identifying trends and operational risks;
• Act in connectivity troubleshooting in high-complexity scenarios, performing root cause analysis;
• Technically support NFVi infrastructure evolution projects, such as upgrades, migrations, and integrations, with technical validation, risk analysis, and implementation support in the production environment;
• Collaborate with technical teams in problem resolution and knowledge dissemination;
• Contribute to the evolution of operational best practices and increased environment reliability;
• Act with autonomy during maintenance windows and critical incidents, maintaining an organized and resilient posture in high-pressure situations;
• Act in meeting NFVi infrastructure security demands, including information gathering, responding to audits and questionnaires, identifying vulnerabilities, and conducting correction treatments with engineering areas and vendors, in alignment with Cyber Security guidelines;
• Contribute technically to the evaluation of infrastructure solutions and acquisitions, supporting engineering and procurement areas with an operational view of the environment.

Requirements and qualifications

• Completed Higher Education, preferably in Telecommunications Engineering, Information Technology, Computing Systems, or related fields;
• Solid experience in operation and troubleshooting of medium and large-scale virtualized or NFVi environments, including acting in critical scenarios and resolving complex failures;
• Consolidated experience in configuration and troubleshooting of multivendor L2/L3 switches/routers (Huawei, Dell, Cisco, HPE, Nokia), including acting in high-criticality production environments;
• Consistent knowledge in virtualized networks and production environments, including SDN Controllers (e.g., OpenDayLight) and virtual switches (OVS and proprietary);
• Mastery of routing and switching protocols (BGP, MPLS, MP-BGP, VRF, VXLAN, EVPN, STP, Segment Routing, OSPF, QoS, IPv6, and Multicast) and SD-WAN architectures;
• A plus: practical experience in networking troubleshooting on market operating systems (bare metal and virtualized environments, such as VMware);
• A plus: practical knowledge in automation and scripting, using tools such as Shell, Ansible, PowerCLI, and languages such as Python, applied to the optimization of operational routines;
• A plus: knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC), using tools such as Terraform and Ansible, applied to the automation and standardization of configurations in the environment;
• A plus: knowledge of telemetry and observability tools, such as Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK/EFK, applied to monitoring, performance analysis, and environment troubleshooting;
• A plus: knowledge of security practices applied to virtualized environments, including hardening of switches and routers, logical access management, network segregation, and microsegmentation, focusing on the operational application of these controls;
• A plus: knowledge of security practices applied to virtualized environments, including hardening of hypervisors;
• A plus: basic knowledge of container technologies and orchestration, such as Docker and Kubernetes, applied to the support and troubleshooting of containerized environments;
• Intermediate English, with the ability to read and interpret technical documentation and interact with vendors;
• A plus: certifications in the networking and infrastructure area, such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalents.

Work regime

• Hybrid work model (3 days on-site and 2 days remote), Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 18:00 with an on-call schedule on weekends;
• Location: Barra da Tijuca, Rio de Janeiro-RJ.
