Overview We are a licensed before and after school childcare program for school age children located in an Elementary School. Our childcare assistants work with children 5-11 years old in our before and after school care program.We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Childcare Provider to support the development and well-being of children in our care. This role involves creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children of various ages, including those with disabilities. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children and have the required education and training.

*A childcare assistant in our before and after school setting will need to be open to working split shifts, they will work some mornings 7:15am-9:15am , and some afternoons 2:45pm-4:45pm or 2:45-5:45pm, both morning and afternoon shifts are required for this position( 4-8 hours on average). Start date the week of September 28, 2026 for training, start date may be flexible. This LOCATION IS NOT ON A BUS ROUTE*_*.*_

*Responsibilities*

• Supervise and ensure the safety of children during daily activities.
• Help implement age-appropriate activities that promote learning and social skills
• Provide emotional support and encouragement to children, fostering a caring environment
• Support children with disabilities by adapting activities and providing individualized care when necessary
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the childcare area to ensure a hygienic environment
• Communicate effectively with staff and parents/guardians when required.

*Qualifications*

• Prior experience working with children in a care giving setting is preferred
• Knowledge of early childhood education principles and best practices
• Experience working with children with disabilities or special needs is a plus
• Compassionate care giving skills with patience, empathy, and excellent communication abilities
• Ability to create an inclusive environment that supports diverse needs and backgrounds
• Certification in CPR/First Aid
• 20 hours of responsible adult training, or training in a related field- ie: Early Childhood Education, Child and Youth Care, Etc
