We are looking for a passionate, responsible and creative Part-Time / Freelance Chinese Teacher & Curriculum Writer to join our team.
This is a dual-role position combining physical classroom teaching with Chinese curriculum development . The successful candidate must be comfortable teaching students at our Marine Parade centre and contributing to the development and improvement of our Chinese learning materials.
This is not a fully remote curriculum-writing position .
π KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Chinese Language Teaching
- Conduct engaging and effective on-site Chinese Language lessons for Primary 1 to Primary 6 students
- Deliver lessons aligned with the Singapore MOE Chinese Language syllabus and learning objectives
- Support students in key areas including vocabulary, comprehension, composition writing, oral communication and examination preparation
- Adapt teaching approaches according to students' learning abilities and individual needs
- Monitor students' progress and provide constructive feedback
- Maintain a positive, encouraging and well-managed classroom environment
- Provide parents with appropriate updates on students' learning progress when required
- Conduct student assessments and trial classes when assigned
Curriculum Writing & Development
- Develop and enhance P1βP6 Chinese Language curriculum and teaching materials
- Create structured lesson plans, worksheets, exercises, revision materials and assessments
- Develop learning resources for vocabulary, comprehension, composition, oral communication and language application
- Prepare teaching slides, teacher notes and supporting classroom resources where required
- Review, proofread and improve existing curriculum materials
- Ensure curriculum content is accurate, age-appropriate and aligned with relevant MOE learning objectives
- Develop engaging activities that encourage students to think, communicate and apply the Chinese language confidently
- Work closely with the curriculum team to review and refine materials
- Complete assigned curriculum projects according to agreed timelines and quality standards
β REQUIREMENTS
- Diploma or Degree in Chinese Language, Education or a related discipline
- Strong command of spoken and written Chinese
- Good understanding of the Singapore MOE Primary Chinese Language syllabus
- Prior experience teaching Primary 1βPrimary 6 Chinese is preferred
- Experience in curriculum writing, worksheet development or educational content creation will be an advantage
- Able to create structured, engaging and age-appropriate Chinese learning materials
- Confident in managing physical classroom lessons
- Patient, responsible, organised and proactive
- Strong attention to detail and able to meet agreed deadlines
- Able to work independently while collaborating effectively with the curriculum and teaching team
- Must be able to travel to our Marine Parade centre for physical teaching assignments
β° WORK ARRANGEMENT
- Part-Time / Freelance, assignment-based position
- Physical teaching will be conducted at our Marine Parade centre
- Teaching schedules will be assigned according to class requirements and teacher availability
- Curriculum development forms an important part of this position
- Selected curriculum-writing assignments may be completed remotely where appropriate
- Candidates must be willing to undertake both teaching and curriculum development responsibilities
- Preference will be given to candidates who are able to commit on a regular and longer-term basis
π° REMUNERATION
Remuneration is assignment-based and will vary according to the nature of the work assigned.
Regular Teaching Lessons: $25β$35 per hour Rate will depend on teaching level, qualifications, relevant teaching experience and capability.
Curriculum Development & Academic Support: $12β$20 per hour This rate applies to:
- Curriculum writing and development
- Worksheet and teaching-resource creation
- Curriculum review and editing
- Lesson preparation
- Student assessments
- Trial classes
- Meetings and training sessions
- Other assigned academic support duties
Important: Trial classes are considered part of the Curriculum Development & Academic Support scope and are not remunerated at the regular teaching lesson rate .
Final rates will be confirmed based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, capabilities and assigned responsibilities.
