Role Summary
As the Assistant Restaurant Manager, you will be the second-in-command of the restaurant and support the Restaurant Manager in overseeing daily operations.
You will act as the Manager-in-Charge whenever the Restaurant Manager is not on duty and ensure both FOH and BOH operations run smoothly. Candidates with stronger FOH experience are welcome to apply, with opportunities to develop broader operational skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Restaurant Manager in overseeing daily outlet operations
- Take charge of the restaurant in the absence of the Restaurant Manager
- Supervise both FOH and BOH teams to ensure smooth operations
- Monitor service quality, food quality and customer satisfaction
- Prepare staff schedules and manpower deployment plans
- Train, coach and onboard new employees and part-timers
- Ensure compliance with company SOPs and food safety standards
- Resolve customer complaints and operational issues promptly
- Support outlet sales initiatives and promotional campaigns
- Manpower Rostering & Cost Optimization: Construct weekly and fortnightly master rosters for full-time and part-timeworkers. Adjust deployments based on seasonal reservations, tourist influxes, and localized events to maximize productivity while controlling labor costs
- Training & SOP Standardization: Design, update, and execute standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the service team. Conduct onboarding for new hires, focusing on customer service, and allergen safety awareness.
- Service Recovery: Step in immediately to handle floor escalations to resolve complex diner issues regarding seating disputes, service speed, or bill discrepancies
- Operational Asset Upkeep: Monitor inventory levels and coordinate stock ordering.
Requirements
- Diploma in Hospitality, F&B Operations or equivalent
- At least 3 to 5 years of supervisory or management experience in F&B
- Experience in airports, established restaurant chains, or high-volume dining outlets
- Strong leadership and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in English and comfortable interacting with local and international customers
- Able to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Familiar with POS systems and daily restaurant operations
