Technical Application Owner (m/f/d) (Technical Manager)

Tasks

• You take overall technical responsibility for department-specific, business-critical applications (e.g., Procurement, Legal and Compliance, Reporting, Collaboration) throughout their entire lifecycle – from selection and introduction/transition to operation
• You evaluate requirements together with the business departments and derive the target architecture from them, oriented towards "SaaS-first" or MSP options
• You plan and control introduction, cutover, and hypercare, and ensure a clear handover to operations (roles, processes, support channels)
• You ensure integration into the existing IT landscape (e.g., SSO/IAM, interfaces, data flows, role and authorization concepts, as well as technical documentation) – while complying with technical and security-relevant guidelines and in accordance with the Cloud-First strategy
• You implement Security and Compliance by Design and anchor them sustainably (e.g., GDPR-compliant processing, audit trails, logging, recertifications) in close cooperation with Information Security
• You manage external providers and internal stakeholders, take over SLA/KPI management, and drive the continuous improvement of services (stability, performance, user experience)
• You establish and operate ITSM-based processes (Incident, Problem, Change), including escalation management and sustainable root cause resolution
• You are responsible for release management and further development in coordination with the business departments (backlog/prioritization) as well as the coordination of tests and acceptances

Profile

• You have a completed degree in (Business) Informatics, IT-related Business Administration, or a comparable qualification with relevant practical experience
• You bring several years of experience in the technical support of business applications in a SaaS and/or MSP environment, from introduction/transition to operation
• You bring a strong understanding of Service Excellence: You manage SLAs/KPIs, ensure stable services, drive continuous improvements, and work in a structured manner with ITSM processes (Incident/Problem/Change)
• You have very good knowledge of Identity and Access Management as well as SSO (preferably OIDC, depending on the SaaS, also SAML) including connection to central Identity Providers – ideally Microsoft Entra ID
• You have experience with integration topics (APIs, interfaces, data flows) as well as with operational fundamentals such as monitoring/alerting and traceable logging
• You implement security and compliance requirements pragmatically; ideally, you have experience in regulated environments (e.g., GDPR, GoBD)
• You work confidently with business departments and external service providers – from management and clear communication to structured documentation – and are proficient with tools such as ServiceNow, Jira, and Confluence or comparable solutions
• You bring a high degree of initiative and implementation strength and work constructively, in a team-oriented manner, with humor and enjoyment in your work
• You have very good English skills
