Thrive Education are looking for an experienced Finance Officer / School Bursar to step into a fantastic independent school in Stroud for an immediate four-week contract.

This is a lovely short-term opportunity for someone who knows school finance inside out and can come in, hit the ground running and confidently take ownership of the day-to-day financial operation.

We’re looking for someone experienced across the typical responsibilities of a school bursar/finance officer, including:

• Purchase and sales ledger
• Invoicing and supplier payments
• Bank reconciliations
• Budget monitoring and financial reporting
• Payroll and staff-related finance administration
• Managing income and expenditure
• Supporting month-end processes
• Liaising with senior leadership, suppliers and external professionals
• General financial administration and ensuring accurate financial records

Previous school finance/bursar experience is essential – we need somebody who can walk through the door and get going with minimal hand-holding.
