Lettings Officer - Field Based

We are currently recruiting for Housing & Lettings Officers to join a busy housing organisation supporting a large programme of new property lettings.

With a significant number of properties ready to be let, this is a hands-on role where you will be out meeting new tenants, handing over keys and helping them settle into their new homes.

The Role

You will spend 3 days per week out visiting properties , typically completing around 3–4 appointments per day . Visits will generally be grouped within the same geographical area, so you won't be expected to travel across your entire patch in one day.

For example, you may have appointments in Wandsworth one day and several in Croydon the next.

The remaining 2 days will be worked from home , completing administration.

T here are 2 roles available, 1 for each of the below areas:

Role 1 South London – Croydon, Greenwich, Wandsworth etc.

Role 2 South West London & Surrey – Slough, Richmond, Weybridge, Epsom etc.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Meeting new tenants at their properties and handing over keys.
  • Providing information about the property and explaining how things work.
  • Giving tenants useful information about the local area and available facilities.
  • Providing a friendly and professional first point of contact.
  • Completing approximately 3–4 property visits per day.
  • Completing administration and updating records following visits.

What We're Looking For

You don't necessarily need previous housing experience. We're particularly interested in people with strong customer service and IT skills who are comfortable working independently.

You'll need:

  • Previous customer-facing or customer service experience.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Good computer literacy.
  • A positive, mature and professional attitude.
  • Good organisation and time management.
  • Reliability and excellent timekeeping.
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • Your own car, as regular travel between properties is required.
  • Happy to complete a standard DBS check .

Hours & Benefits

  • 35 hours per week
  • Monday to Friday
  • Appointments from 9:00am onwards
  • Final appointment no later than 4:00pm
  • 3 days visiting properties / 2 days home working
  • Appointments generally grouped geographically
  • Option to work some of your hours on a Saturday if preferred but this is totally optional
