STEM Teacher
As the STEM Teacher at The Winstedt School, your role centres on championing inclusive, inquiry-based, and multidisciplinary learning that meets the diverse needs of every student. You will design and implement a dynamic, hands-on STEM curriculum that integrates seamlessly across core subjects, fostering critical thinking, creative problem-solving, and a lifelong passion for discovery. Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team of educators and specialists, you will champion innovative, differentiated teaching strategies aligned with Winstedt’s core values and inclusive ethos. You will take full ownership of the STEM program's development and delivery, bringing energy, deep pedagogical expertise, exceptional communication skills, and robust organisational abilities to create a supportive and empowering environment for all learners. Responsibilities Instruction & Curriculum: Design and deliver inclusive, concept-driven STEM experiences from Year 2 to Year 6 that build computational thinking, design thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.
Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Partner with educators, TPC specialists, and leadership to develop inquiry-based units, sharing insights and mentoring colleagues on inclusive instructional best practices.
Learning Environment: Cultivate a positive, well-organised, and sensory-friendly space that ensures the physical and emotional safety of all students while leveraging assistive and educational technologies.
Assessment & Reporting: Employ multimodal assessments tailored to various learning styles, maintain accurate records on digital platforms, and provide individualised, constructive feedback to build student confidence.
Community Engagement: Build proactive, empathetic partnerships with families and collaborate with the wider school community to support each student's journey.
General Administration: Fulfill pastoral and supervisory duties, maintain accurate communication logs, and adhere to all school policies regarding attendance, punctuality, and community guidelines.
Requirements Minimum 2 years in STEM education Bachelor’s degree in Education (with a focus on elementary or primary education) or a Bachelor’s degree in a specific STEM discipline Deep pedagogical expertise in progressive STEM education, science, mathematics, and design/digital technologies. Strong working knowledge of neurodiversity-affirming methodologies and inclusive, differentiated teaching strategies. Exceptional communication and organisational skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment. Key Deliverables Strategic development, continuous improvement, and successful delivery of the Year 2 to Year 6 STEM program. Organisation and facilitation of engaging STEM community events, inclusive competitions, and termly hands-on Co-Curricular Clubs. Maintenance of comprehensive, up-to-date digital portfolios for student work and accurate communication/behavior logs on designated school management platforms(iSAMS).
