welder-fitter

The Welmar Group is looking for energetic, hardworking individuals to join our welding/fitting team. Full-time morning and afternoon shifts are available for experienced welders for stainless and carbon steel projects. We are a custom fabrication shop, so the project variety regularly changes.

Welder?s responsibilities include:

• Read blueprints and drawings
• Setting up and calibrating welding equipment based on process required
• Operate angle grinders and associated tools to prepare parts for welding
• Fit components to drawing specifications
• Weld components using MIG welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead)
• Visually inspect welds for defects and make necessary repairs
• Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety

Job Requirements: MUST have 3+ yrs experience

• Proven experience as a fitter/welder using thin gauge thicknesses through 3/4" thick
• Experience in using a variety of welding equipment and tools
• Proficiency in reading, interpreting technical documents and drawings
• Knowledge of safety standards and must use PPE (face-shield, gloves etc.)
• Proficient in English
• Successful completion of a relevant apprenticeship program is an asset
• Professional Certification (e.g. an CWB welding certificate) will be a plus
